About General Heating & Air Conditioning
Welcome to the GHAC Family: A Community Built on Integrity and Trust
At General Heating & Air Conditioning (GHAC), we don’t just see ourselves as a company; we see ourselves as a tightly-knit community, bonded by a shared commitment to integrity, excellence, and service. Since our humble beginnings, we’ve embraced the values of honesty, empathy, and reliability, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere reminiscent of a close-knit family gathering.
General Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc. was founded in 1968 by Jack Patterson, William Salyers, Charles Lykins, and Dick Dodge to satisfy a growing need for heating and air conditioning systems in new homes being built in the Flatwoods, KY region. Dick Dodge left the company during the first year, leaving Jack, William and Charles as the three owners.

Roots of Generations: A Legacy of Pride and Commitment
Embedded within the very fabric of GHAC is a rich heritage of familial dedication and unwavering principles.
From the earliest memories of our founder to the present-day leadership of President Will Patterson,
each generation has contributed to the tapestry of values that define who we are as a company and as
individuals.

The new home market was booming and by the early 1970’s GHAC had become the largest reseller of Amana heating and cooling products in the nation. GHAC opened a branch office in Minford, OH which was managed by Charles Lykins.
A Home Away From Home: Finding Comfort in Community
Just as a family provides comfort and support in times of need, GHAC extends a comforting embrace to
every member of our community – from our dedicated employees to our cherished customers.
Together, we navigate the journey of home comfort, ensuring that every step is guided by care,
professionalism, and a genuine desire to exceed expectations.
